At Loddington C of E Primary School we are a kind and caring community built upon Christian values. At school we aim to promote the British Values to ensure young people leave school feeling prepared for life in modern Britain. In alignment with our PSHE curriculum, we celebrate diversity, different races, and cultures. We know what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’.

The key values include:

  • Democracy
  • Rule of Law
  • Individual Liberty
  • Mutual Respect
  • Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

We demonstrate these key values by:

  • Promoting them in school
  • Challenging pupils, staff or parents who express opinions contrary to British Values.

We show Democracy by:

  • Having an active school council.
  • Having an ethos committee.
  • Our curriculum emphasises democracy.

We show Rule of Law by:

  • Behaviour is discussed and reflected upon.
  • School rules are important.
  • We are aware of our rights and responsibilities.
  • We manage behaviour positively.
  • We put support programmes in place for pupils and communicate with families.

We show Individual Liberty by:

  • Opportunities for pupil voice to be heard.
  • Ensuring every child feels valued and part of the community.
  • Recognising achievements in class and throughout celebration assemblies.
  • Showcasing our talents and supporting the community.

We show Tolerance by:

  • We are aware of a range of backgrounds and promote an environment where everyone feels happy, safe and looked after.
  • Children are treated equally.
  • Our PSHE curriculum equips pupils to share and discuss viewpoints in a safe manner.
  • We weave opportunities to develop appreciation for other cultures and religions.

We show Mutual Respect by:

  • We aim for every member of our school community to feel valued and treated with respect.
  • We show respect for our books and children take responsibility for looking after them.
  • We actively support charitable causes, including supporting local food banks.
